The Love of God - John 3:17,18
If God did not show his love toward us we would all remain condemned
and on our way to a Christless hell. It is only because of
God's love that Jesus came and that we could be saved. Verse 17
states: "For God sent not his Son
into the world to condemn the world;
but that the world through him might be saved." The context
of
this chapter shows that we are comdemned already unless we have
believed. This statement is to me one of the strongest reasons to
get the gospel out. The world is already condemned because it has not
believed. Verse 18 states: "He
that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is
condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only
begotten Son of God." So, have you believed the testimony
of God's love in Christ? This is not about a church, denomination
or your own good works, but it is about a person - the Son of God,
Jesus. Many have rejected him, but how do you relate to him?
It is only a
hopeless situation without God's love. Yes, God does love you and
it is because of God's love
that we are to get the gospel out. "There
is therefore now no
condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not
after the flesh but after the Spirit" (Romans 8:1) Amen!
The Bible is such a good book.
